God's Eye
Ojo de Dios
The ojo de dios, or god's eye, is a simple weaving made with 2 sticks and yarn. When a child is born, the center "eye" is woven in a single color. This weaving is hung over the child's bed or crib to insure God watches over him/her and keeps them safe and healthy. Each year another color is added to the weaving on the child's birthday. |
